CATS board member Ryan Heck resigns
BATON ROUGE - Another member of the Capital Area Transit System's board resigned down today, but said he'll continue to serve until a replacement for his position is found.
Ryan Heck submitted his resignation Tuesday, and told News 2 it is effective Oct. 1.
However, Heck said he planned to continue serving on the board until a replacement for his position is found, which he estimated could take until the start of 2014.
Heck, who is also a member of the East Baton Rouge Metro Council, is the fourth CATS board member to resign in recent months, following Jared Loftus, Montrell McCaleb, and Isaiah Marshall. Former CEO Brian Marshall also resigned earlier this year.
Some members of the Metro Council proposed dissolving the board entirely earlier this year, after several scandals involving allegations of theft and misplaced money.
