CATS approves budget with $1.2 million deficit
BATON ROUGE - The Capital Area Transit System has approved a budget that's short more than $1 million.
CATS Board Member and Metro Councilwoman Donna Collins-Lewis says she abstained from the vote because public hearings on the budget weren't held yet.
Lewis says CATS plans to go to the public in January for input on filling the budget hole. Some ideas discussed are route changes and cuts, along with fare-increases.
