Catholic survives scare from Dutchtown 20-17
DUTCHTOWN - A last-second field goal attempt by Dutchtown fell short, and Catholic high escaped with a 20-17 win on Friday night.
The Bears built a 13-9 lead in the 3rd quarter, and extended it with a 20-yard touchdown catch to make the score 20-9.
With LSU offensive coordinator Cam Cameron looking on, the Griffins battled back, as Fitell Bolding took a handoff down to the 1 yard line, leading to a Griffins score to make it 20-15.
A 2-point conversion made the score 20-17, and that's how it finished as Justin Reid's last-second field goal from 49-yards out was blocked to keep the Bears perfect in district 5-5A.
The Bears are the only undefeated team in the district.
