Catholic Schools Week kicks off this weekend
BATON ROUGE - News 2's John Pastorek was out at Ambrosia Bakery in Baton Rouge to meet with some folks who epitomize the type of educators and students who will be celebrated in upcoming Catholic Schools Week.
The celebration kicks off this weekend and will run through next week. This morning Dr. Kevin "Doc" Andry and the award-winning jazz ensemble from St. Michael the Archangel High School were featured to show some of the best products of Catholic education in the area.
"Doc" epitomizes the ideals of Catholic education and was the winner of the national secondary Catholic educator of the year award, but he is quick to defer the praise to the dedication and talent of the musical kids he leads.
