Cassidy on flood insurance, school choice, town hall
BATON ROUGE - U.S. Congressman Bill Cassidy stopped by 2une In Wednesday to talk about the flood insurance bill currently on the table in Congress.
The bill already passed the House of Representatives last week. If the Senate chooses to accept it as well and it is signed by President Obama, it would help to provide relief from the inflated insurance rate that came about as a result of the redistricting of flood zones. The increase could be as high as 90% in some areas.
Cassidy is hosting a pair of events in the Baton Rouge area Monday. He is hosting a School Choice From 8:30 am- Noon at the Baton Rouge Marriott. At the fair you will have the chance to meet with representatives from charter schools, home study programs and private/parochial schools.
The congressman will also be holding a Town Hall Meeting in Gonzales Monday evening. It is from 3:15-4:15 pm at the Azalea Estates Assisted Living and Retirement Community at 2305 S. Purpera Ave.
