Cassidy agrees to debate Landrieu on Dec. 1
BATON ROUGE - Republican challenger U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy announced Thursday he will engage Democratic incumbent Mary Landrieu in a Dec. 1 debate.
Landrieu challenged Cassidy to a total of six debates in the period leading up to the Dec. 6 runoff between the two candidates on election night. The Thursday announcement from the Cassidy camp solidifies the first of these debates.
The debate will happen after the early voting period in the runoff has ended, which runs from Nov. 22-29.
