BATON ROUGE- A few months after changing city law and allowing more alcohol sales on Sunday, city leaders will discuss the possibility of allowing some Baton Rouge establishments to sell alcohol at all hours of the day.

Discussions begin at Wednesday night's Metro Council on a special, 24/7 liquor license.

According to the meeting agenda, the license would likely be for riverboat casinos. There are three along the Mississippi River in the Capital City.

The proposed ordinance reads, "to allow 24 hour operation on the gaming floor and in restricted locations."

Bars were just given permission to open and sell alcohol on Sunday this past November.

Current law requires alcohol sales end at 2 a.m. Monday- Saturday and by midnight on Sundays.
