If you've been waiting to cash in on Louisiana's "Cash for Appliances" program: time's up. The federal program's money is officially dried up.
Louisiana residents reserved about 29,000 appliances for rebates by Saturday morning--exactly one week after the program began. More than half of that was reserved the first day.
Rebates of up to $500 were offered, if you turned in your old appliances for more energy-efficient models.
If you didn't get a chance to reserve your rebate, there is a waiting list system set up. Head to the "news" tab on the home page, then scroll down to "links" to sign up.
