"Carts on the Path..."
"Carts on the path" is the customary vernacular of avid golfers after drenching rain puddles a course. A golf cart on a fairway, after an inch of rain, creates damage and headaches for the greens superintendent. The majority of our group enjoy walking however our Team Captain, Billy Edrington and his Assistant, Mike Anderson, insist on riding. When rain puts carts off the fairways and on the path, slower play ensues. Bubba Watson may have the solution. At the Arizona Raven Golf Club the 2012 Masters Champion test drove the BW1, a $20,000 hovercraft that floats on nine inches of air and skims greens, sand traps and water hazards. It takes 36 hours for courses to drain and the BW1 has 33 times less weight than a human golf cleat.
