Cars wreck, catch fire in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE - Emergency responders had to cut an elderly woman from her SUV after a wreck on Greenwell Springs Road this morning.
It happened at the intersection of Greenwell Springs and Platt Drive. Surveillance video showed the woman's vehicle turning left at the intersection, then getting hit in the passenger's side by an oncoming vehicle.
One of the vehicles caught fire, and the woman was trapped in her SUV. Firefighters had to use hydraulic cutters to remove her from the vehicle.
She and a person from the other vehicle were both taken to the hospital.
