Carencro residents cleaning up after heavy storms
CARENCRO - Parts of Carencro, La. are cleaning up after thunderstorms dumped a foot of rain in some areas.
But flood waters continue to rise along Bayou Vermilion. Up to three feet of water has flooded parts of Wilderness Trial Road as neighbors play the waiting game to see if their property will flood.
Many said they've never seen flash flooding this bad, and some are evacuating because of the threat of wildlife near their homes.
Daniel James Angelle said he needed a boat to get down his street, and the flooding happened so fast, they slept right through it.
"I hope it goes down soon. I'd love to get back home," Angelle said.
