Car towed with body inside
RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA- A North Carolina State Trooper is on administrative leave after he ordered a towing company to haul off a car after a wreck and didn't realize the body of the driver was inside. Carolyn Watkins was reported missing by her son after she failed to show up for work. A Smithfield police officer investigating her disappearance found the body in the car at an impound lot three days after the crash. An accident report filed by Trooper Marlon Williams shows the 2000 Pontiac was found in a ditch in Smithfield and both air bags were deployed. The trooper wrote in a report: "Note: No driver at the scene of this collision." How she died is now under investigation.
