Car flips, ejecting three passengers
BATON ROUGE - Three men were ejected from their vehicle, as it flipped multiple times off the road.
"I just heard a loud bang, and I ran," said witness Jonathan Umanzor. "I just saw the car flipping, then I saw someone rolling on the side, probably wasn't wearing his seat belt, so he flew out."
Umanzor saw the car flip at least five times, before landing in his front yard. He was just getting home from school when the car came barreling down the road. He called for help.
"It was really all too quick," he said.
It happened near Victoria Dr. and Prescott Ave. around 3 p.m. Friday afternoon. Police say it was a one vehicle accident where the vehicle left the roadway, flipped and rolled in a ditch. Three people in the car were transported to the hospital.
One witness says a group of neighbors had to lift the car, while he pulled a trapped passenger to safety.
"I pulled one of them from the car because his head was stuck," said Ernest Washington. "He wasn't even moving."
Paramedics on scene say at least two people suffered potentially life-threatening injuries.
