BATON ROUGE - A car crash on Siegen Lane involving a car and a motorcycle resulted in the death of 29-year-old Marc Williams on Monday night.

Around 7 p.m. Troopers responded to the crash where Williams was on a Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Siegen Lane and 22-year-old Gladys Dedrick was in a Honda Civic going northbound.

According to police, Dedrick moved into the center turn lane and came to a stop while making a left turn.

As the traffic came to a stop, Dedrick began to make a left turn between the stopped cars and Williams’ motorcycle struck the right side of Dedrick’s car as she was crossing the right southbound lane. The collision resulted in Williams being ejected from his motorcycle.

Williams was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead.

Dedrick was wearing a seat belt and was not injured during the crash.

According to police, impairment is not suspected in the crash but a toxicology sample was taken from both drivers for analysis.
