HOUMA - A driver who abandoned his car during a police chase in Houma neglected to stop the car, which ran into the front porch of a house.
Police said it happened early Sunday.
Patrol officers saw a car making a fast turn with tires squealing. They pursued as the car ran through stop signs and headed the wrong way down a one-way street.
The driver jumped out and ran. The car ran into the porch. There were no injuries and police eventually caught a suspect.
Booked in the case was 22-year-old Brian Johnson of Houma. The Courier reports that he was booked with several charges including flight using a motor vehicle and hit and run. He was released on $1,255 bond.
