BATON ROUGE - Capitol High School has been ordered to forfeit six football games from last year's schedule because of an ineligible player.
The Louisiana High School Athletics Association issued the ruling today, which included a one-year academic probation and $200 fine. The student in question will also be required to sit out ten games this season.
The LHSAA said Capitol High self-reported the violation after finding a student who transferred to the school was actually a sophomore, not a freshman as originally thought.
Sports 2 will have more on the ruling later today on News 2 at 6, as well as updates here at WBRZ.com.
