The Executive Director for the Capital Area Legal Services Corporation, James Wayne, has been placed on leave.
News 2 has learned this comes after an audit was conducted by the Office of Inspector General in Washington D.C. surrounding more than $318,000 in questionable spending. Those spending practices highlight nearly $12,000 in meals expensed at the "Camelot Club" when Wayne dined alone. There are also nearly $80,000 in expenses on Wayne's Toyota Camry for lease payments and fuel costs.
The organization provides the poor in 12 parishes with legal service.
