Cannon fire to be heard at state Capitol
BATON ROUGE - Louisiana State Police say cannon fire will be heard in downtown Baton Rouge Thursday morning as the state House of Representatives remember the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.
As part of the ceremony, a 21-gun salute will be conducted. Residents, employees and visitors to the State Capitol complex should expect to hear numerous loud booms. The cannon will be in the sunken ground in the gardens in front of the Huey P. Long statue.
The House will honor fallen soldiers, airmen, sailors, marines and Coast Guard members during a ceremony Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
