LAFAYETTE, La. - Lafayette's city-parish government has fired an employee accused of secretly recording video in a men's restroom of the planning and zoning department.

Police said 38-year-old Jeffery Larcade, of Lafayette, was arrested Friday and booked with video voyeurism after a co-worker discovered the camera.

He had worked as a planner for city-parish government since 1998.

According to a news release, he was fired after an administrative hearing Monday. He is free on $10,000 bond.

A telephone listing for Larcade had been disconnected.
