Bus system chief in line for 19 percent pay raise
BATON ROUGE - The director of the Capital Area Transit System, Bob Mirabito, is in line for a 19 percent pay raise, which, if approved, would make him one of the highest-paid public officials working in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Mirabito, who has been the CEO of transit system for about a year and a half, has a current salary of $147,000 a year.
Under the terms of his new contract, which is subject to approval by the CATS Board on Tuesday, his pay could jump to $175,000 a year. His base salary could increase by up to 5 percent per year, depending on performance evaluations.
Mirabito also would get an additional $700 a month to cover out-of-pocket expenses for his employee benefits.
