Burn victim convicted of lying
WINNSBORO- A woman who lied about being set on fire by the KKK pleaded guilty to charges in North Louisiana.
Sharmeka Moffitt was sentenced to prison, but it was suspended and she is on probation. Moffitt will have to pay fine, KNOE TV reported Friday.
In October 2012, Moffitt said three men in white hoodies attacked and burned her at a park. She suffered burns on more than half of her body.
Moffitt pleaded guilty to terrorizing and false swearing.
