State agriculture officials say a burn ban on all outside fires has been ordered for residents in Winn and Caldwell parishes.

Louisiana Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain said Thursday that the ban is effective immediately.

Strain says the Winn and Caldwell parish police juries initiated the burn bans.

Temperatures in both parishes have been in the high 90s for several days.
