LPSO: Burglars tried to run over deputy
LIVINGSTON PARISH - A Denham Springs man faces attempted murder charges after authorities said they tried to run over a Livingston Parish Sheriff's deputy.
Kevin Patrick Oshee, 21, and Brian James Lilly, 23, were arrested in suspicion of burglary on August 9. Oshee is also accused of trying to run down a deputy with the vehicle he was driving.
According to investigators, two deputies were driving down Andrews Road when they saw two men with a car backed into the carport of a home. When they got closer they saw one of the men was out with a pry bar trying to break into the home, while the other man was in the vehicle.
The deputies said when they identified themselves the man with the pry bar got into the car and took off, aiming his vehicle at one of the deputies who had to jump out of the way.
The deputies said they gave chase and the men in the car began throwing things out of it during the pursuit, including guns and marijuana. Other deputies were able to stop the car at the corner of La. 16 and Juban Road, and the two men were arrested.
Oshee is being held at Livingston Parish Detention Center with a $275,000 bond, while Lilly is also at Livingston Parish Detention Center with a $100,000 bond.
