DENHAM SPRINGS - Livingston Parish Sheriff's Deputies arrested two woman for burglary, one of which claimed she was taking back property that belonged to her.

When deputies arrived they say they caught 32-year-old Erica Ellwood, 9120 Florida Blvd, Denham Springs, La. and 47-year-old Tonjue Vines, 32529 Clinton Allen Road, Denham Springs, La. in the act.

After unsuccessful attempts at getting the women to come out of the home, a K-9 unit was sent in to the apprehend the suspects.

"We went inside the residence with a K-9 and {Gunner} actually found her hiding in the master bedroom of the residence and the other was found hiding in a closet," Livingston Parish's Chief Deputy Jason Ard said.

"Gunner" bit one of the women--sending her to the hospital.

When questioned, Ellwood said she was simply retrieving items that belonged to her. Authorities said she even brought a metal detector to locate a stolen firearm buried in the back yard.

After a through search, deputies could not find any of the items the Ellwood claimed as hers.
