State lawmakers found out Friday at the Capitol that the long term picture for the budget is not promising.
The current budget shortfall is about $1.2 billion and is projected to be about $1.7 billion the next two years. For the 2014 fiscal year, the shortfall is projected to be $1.8 billion.
