Update: The Revenue Estimating Conference made a formal estimate of the deficit for the current budget year that ends June 30.

The projected deficit for remainder of 2010 fiscal year is $319 million.

The new fiscal year starts July 1st.

The latest deficit presents a problem since it's happening so late in the fiscal year.

Any cuts that are made can only be spread over two or three months.
