BRPD: Teen wanted in shooting surrenders
BATON ROUGE - Police arrested a 16-year-old after he turned himself in connection to a shooting last month in Baton Rouge.
Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said the teen surrendered to police last week after he found out he was wanted for the shootings on the 2500 block of Thomas Delpit on July 24.
Police said the teen shot two people at that location just before midnight that night. Stubbs said James Ray Mimms, 42, was shot in the neck and died at the scene. EMS took the other victim to a local hospital, where he is still in critical condition.
Stubbs said the teen faces murder and attempted murder charges.
