BRPD: Teen killed over "mutual girlfriend"
BATON ROUGE - Police in Baton Rouge have made an arrest in the murder of a man who was shot to death early Tuesday morning.
Jamile Variste, 18, was arrested early Thursday morning in connection with the shooting death of 18-year-old Devonta Jenks.
The shooting took place around 2:25 a.m. Tuesday at the Spanish Arms Apartments at 4343 Denham St. Investigators believe it occured after an argument between the two teens over a "mutual girlfriend".
Police say 18 year-old Devonta Jenks was shot once in the upper chest and died at the scene.
