BATON ROUGE - Police said a woman found shot and in critical condition earlier this week died today, but the child she was six months pregnant with survived.

Cpl. L'Jean McKneely said Allison Brue, 31, was removed from life support earlier today.

She was found shot in the head Tuesday at her home on Tuscarora Street lying next to her boyfriend, 27-year-old Benny Johnson. Police believe he shot her, then shot and killed himself.

McKneely said Brue was also six months pregnant, and the baby survived the shooting without injury.
