High school student killed in BR car crash
BATON ROUGE - Police said a Baton Rouge teenager died when his car hit a pole and flipped this afternoon.
Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said Samuel Barth, 17, died in the wreck at 6605 Jefferson Highway around 3 p.m.
Stubbs said he was driving south on Jefferson at a high rate of speed when he lost control, hit an electrical pole and flipped his car.
Twitter users instantly responded to news of the wreck, with several posting comments about Barth, a Catholic High student.
"RIP Sam Barth," tweeted one. "Fly high man. Everyone be careful on those roads."
