BRPD: River Center robbed over weekend

BATON ROUGE - Police are investigating a robbery at the Baton Rouge River Center over the weekend.

Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said a man entered the arena 12:30 Sunday morning armed with a gun and demanding cash.

It happened after the monster truck show, and police said a private vendor was robbed an "undisclosed about of cash."

Sources told News 2 it was more than $20 thousand.

Witnesses described the subject to police as 6'0 to 6'2 wearing a blue hoodie.

River Center Management told News 2, after all events workers lock and chain lock all exterior doors.

"We feel that someone probably came through the loading dock," Todd Mitchell, Baton Rouge River Center General Manager said.

Police are waiting on surveillance video from the River Center that could help identify the suspect.
