BATON ROUGE- Police have identified the officer involved in a shooting Wednesday night.

Richard McCloskey, 29, has been placed on paid administrative leave, which is routine after an officer-involved shooting.

Michael Anthony Joseph, 41, is accused of firing the shots at McCloskey. A bullet hit his bulletproof vest and wireless lapel microphone, but didn't injure him.

McCloskey, a four-year veteran of BRPD, was also one of four officers involved in a shooting in August 2011 after a high-speed chase in North Baton Rouge.
