BATON ROUGE - A man has turned himself in after a fight over a possible robbery left another man dead Friday.

Rodney Lee, 44, was shot and killed in the 4600 block of Aldrich Drive in the Valley Park area around 4:30 Friday. A dog was also shot and survived, police said.

Police say the suspected shooter, Jason Paul Pitcher, turned himself in Saturday afternoon while represented by an attorney. Investigators said Pitcher accused Lee of wanting to rob him.

Pitcher was booked on charges of second degree murder, illegal use of a weapon and cruelty to animals.
