BATON ROUGE - Three former BRPD officers pleaded not guilty to abuse of office charges Monday morning.

Baton Rouge Police officer Issac Bolden, 40, is accused of forcing a woman to perform oral sex on him in a BREC park while two other BRPD officers, Travis Wheeler and Emerson Jackson, watched. According to the grand jury indictment the three men threatened to tow the victim's car and arrest one of the woman's friends if she did not comply with Bolden's demands.

"[The allegations are] absolutely untrue, not guilty. If we have to go to trial, that's what we'll do," said Bolden's attorney, John Digiulio.

Monday, Wheeler's attorney, Harry Daniels, offered an alternative version of the officers' encounter with the woman and her friend. "The allegations of a sex offence never occurred. They were investigating a case of seeing an abandoned car. They encountered the young lady and the young man, which were the young lady and the young man who brought these allegations," said Daniels.

The incident happened in February of 2014 with Bolden's indictment for abuse of office coming last November.

Bolden resigned from the Baton Rouge Police Department last year and the other two officers were fired. If convicted of the abuse of office charges the men could face possible prison time of one to five years, but the district attorney's office said probation is a possible sentence in the case.

Jackson's attorney, Tommy Damico, announced his client intends to rejoin the BRPD after his name is cleared. "He enjoyed the work, he did a good job. It's his intention to once again join the police force after this is over with," said Damico.

The accused officers will make their next court appearance in April.
