BRPD: Man wanted for attempted armed robbery of Baskin Robbins on Florida Blvd.

BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge Police Detectives are working to identify and locate a man responsible for the attempted armed robbery of a Baskin Robbins located at 11222 Florida Blvd.

The incident occurred on Mar. 16 at around 6:30 p.m. when the suspect entered the ice cream shop posing as a customer as he sampled several flavors of the ice cream.

According to police, the suspect left the store and then returned a few minutes later demanding money from the register as he lifted his shirt to show a knife in his waistband.

The suspect then fled before obtaining any money, police say.

According to police, the suspect is identified as a black male, 30- 35 years of age, 5‘9 - 5‘11 feet tall and 200 pounds. The suspect was wearing a black shirt with a black and white hat.

Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to contact the Armed Robbery Division at 389-3845.
