BRPD looking for leads in gas station theft
BATON ROUGE - Police are looking to identify a suspect who stole a wallet from a 79-year-old victim at a South Sherwood Forest gas station this month.
Officers said the robbery happened on June 8 at the Race Trac gas station located at 3425 South Sherwood Forest Boulevard.
The victim was loading items into his car when the suspect came from behind and snatched his wallet, according to law enforcement. Police said the suspect then went to several Baton Rouge stores, using the victim's credit card, purchasing items worth more than $500.
Authorities described the person who took the wallet as a thin white or Hispanic man in his 20's with dark curly hair and a tattoo on his right forearm. They said he was last seen driving a white work van with white metal carries on the roof, according to police.
Anyone with information concerning the suspect are urged by Baton Rouge Police to contact the Armed Robbery Division at (225) 389-7867.
