BRPD identify man shot and killed on Provost

BATON ROUGE - Police identified a man they said was shot and killed while riding in a vehicle last night in Baton Rouge.

Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said Jarmayne Jackson, 20 died after the shooting on Provost around 10 p.m. Wednesday night.

Stubbs said Jackson and another 20-year-old man were sitting in the back of a vehicle when gunshots hit it. Occupants told police they saw Jackson and the other victim were hit, and rushed them to a hospital where Jackson died from his injuries.

Police said they had no suspects in the case, and the motive for the shooting was unknown.
