BATON ROUGE - Police have identified a suspect wanted in connection with the robbery of the Chase bank on Government Street in Baton Rouge earlier this week.

51-year-old Gregory Chisolm, of New Orleans, is now wanted for the Jan. 12 armed robbery.

Baton Rouge Police detectives said Chisolm entered the bank, located at 3012 Government St., at around 9:40 a.m. Tuesday and gave the teller a note demanding money. He obtained an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the business on foot.

As he fled, the man dropped a suspicious item in front of the teller window that the Baton Rouge Police Explosives Unit were called to the scene to investigate. The non-explosive device was checked out, and BRPD gave the all clear.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Chisolm is urged to contact the BRPD Armed Robbery Division at (225) 389-3845.
