BRPD: Homeless man killed in hit-and-run
BATON ROUGE - Investigators said a homeless man died after they were hit by an SUV which fled the scene in Baton Rouge overnight.
Police said the 52-year-old man was crossing Greenwell Street near Quida Mae on foot around 9:35 p.m. Thursday when he was hit by a white SUV. The vehicle didn't stop, and police said it headed west to Airline Highway and turned north.
EMS took the victim to the hospital where he died from his injuries. Police said they're still working to identify his family members so they can be notified.
