BRPD: Handcuffed man escapes during drug arrests

BATON ROUGE - Police said a man handcuffed during an investigation into suspected drug dealers in Baton Rouge managed to escape, and is still on the loose.

Cpl. L'Jean McKneely said police are searching for Dandre Brown, 23, who escaped during the investigation at Marino's Food Mart on Weller Ave. Tuesday night.

McKneely said investigators got an anonymous tip people were selling drugs at that location Tuesday night, and detained Brown along with several other individuals just before midnight. Brown managed to escape the scene, even though he was wearing handcuffs.

Brown's wanted for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Schedule 4 Narcotics, Possession of Schedule 2 Narcotics, Theft, Resisting an Officer and Simple Escape.
