BRPD foils attempted pharmacy burglary
BATON ROUGE - Police arrested a man accused of breaking into a pharmacy with the ultimate goal of stealing oxycodone pills on Tuesday.
Curran Tyler Johnson, 23, was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a charge of attempted simple burglary of a pharmacy after officers apprehended him at the scene of the crime.
Police said they responded to an alarm activation at Bolton Pharmacy on Perkins Road at 3:30 a.m. to find a broken window. Officers said they found Johnson, attempting to hide after breaking the window, near the pharmacy.
According to investigators, Johnson admitted to breaking the window and told officers he was trying to steal oxycodone pills. After he broke the window, he became scared and attempted to flee the scene, but was apprehended by arriving officers, according to the arrest report.
