A new helicopter will help officers track suspects on the ground, and provide support during investigations.
Mayor Kip Holden says its part of a plan to cut down on crime in the capital city. He also wants officers to focus on four specific areas. He said the areas of the city with zip codes 70802, 70805, 70806 and 70815 accounted for 60 of 75 murders last year.
News 2's Luke Margolis gets answers on how the eyes in the sky will help officers on the street.
