BRPD: Drugs found in diaper bag after wreck
BATON ROUGE - Police arrested a Baton Rouge woman after officers said they found heroin, narcotics, and needles in her child's diaper bag.
Cpl. Don Coppola Jr. said Leslie Estes, 25, crashed into the back of a stopped 18-wheeler on I-12 West Wednesday morning. He said Estes' 11-month-old child was also unrestrained in the car, but nobody was hurt.
Coppola said when officers checked the car they found clear cellophane bags with suspected heroin and MDMA. They also said they found a glass vial of suspected Naloxone, heroin and drug paraphernalia like burnt spoons, cut straws and hypodermic needles in her child's diaper bag.
Police booked Estes into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on drug and traffic violations, including driving with a suspended license.
Coppola said the child was turned over to Estes' parents.
