BATON ROUGE - Police concluded today that a deadly shooting in Baton Rouge this past weekend was done in self-defense.
Lt. Don Kelly said investigators learned Anthony Taylor, 20, was armed and trying to break into a home on Topeka Street Sunday night when he was shot and killed.
Kelly sad Taylor exchanged fired with a resident, 35-year-old Kurt Anderson, and fled the scene after he was hit. Taylor collapsed a short distance away, and his gun was found next to him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said nobody else in the home, including a two-year-old child, were hurt in the shooting or home invasion.
Kelly said no charges were filed, but they forwarded the case to the District Attorney's Office for review.
