BRPD creates "Safe Transaction Zone" for online purchases
BATON ROUGE- There's a new safe zone for people to meet up and exchange items and money for online purchases.
The Baton Rouge Police Department set up a "Safe Transaction Zone" in the parking lot next to its headquarters on Airline Highway.
The transaction zone acts as a non-threatening location for people to show, inspect or purchase property that is for sale online.
The parking lot is monitored by surveillance cameras 24 hours a day, but police request that people schedule their transactions during daylight hours.
