BRPD arrest man accused of contraband smuggling
BATON ROUGE - Law enforcement said they arrested a man accused of attempting to bring stolen goods to an inmate in EBR Parish Prison.
Police arrested 44-year-old Terry Wright on suspicion of entering contraband into a penal institution on Sunday.
Police said a patrolling officer on Airline Hwy. saw a van parked next to a dumpster at a closed business and approached to investigate.
Wright, a driver for the Louisiana Workforce Commission, said he was at the location to pick up a package for an inmate, according to officials.
Police said Wright acknowledged that he knew what he was doing was against the law and they placed him under arrest.
