BRPD: Armed woman sought in ATM robbery
BATON ROUGE - Police released surveillance photos Tuesday of an armed woman who detectives said tried to rob someone using an ATM in Baton Rouge recently.
Investigators said the attempted robbery happened at the Chase Bank on W. State Street around 7:55 p.m. on Aug. 18. The victim told police they were using the ATM when a woman with small braids in her hair came up to them, pulled out a gun and demanded money.
Police said the two fought, and the armed woman hit the victim over the head with her gun. Detectives said the armed woman tried to steal the victim's car, but couldn't get it started and ran away.
The victim had a minor head injury, but didn't need medical treatment.
Anyone with any information about the armed woman's identity should call the BRPD Armed Robbery Division at (225) 389-3845.
