A pair of brothers were arrested by New Orleans police within hours of the murder of a 55-year-old woman and the shooting of a 15-year-old boy.

Police say Ryan Carroll and his brother Carey Jones were arrested for the shooting death of Eula Ivey and wounding of the teenager.

Each was booked with first-degree murder.

Police say the brothers turned themselves in after detectives identified them as suspects in the crime.

Jones and Carroll also were booked with principal to attempted second-degree murder in a 2009 incident and Jones faces a charge of aggravated battery in an alleged incident that happened in April.
