WBRZ - Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE- Crews will be inspecting the Horace Wilkinson Bridge, also known as the "New Bridge," where I-10 crosses the Mississippi River Saturday and Sunday.

It's a routine inspection. Crews have been checking out other bridges in the area.

Expect one eastbound lane to be closed for the survey crew.

Louisiana DOTD said Friday, if the inspections begin to cause heavy traffic, it will consider making changes to the inspections so traffic can flow smoothly.

The inspection will take place from 7 a.m. to NOON.
