Bridge fails, falls into river with vehicles and people
NEAR SEATTLE, Wash.- Cars and people are reportedly in the water after a bridge over a river collapsed Thursday evening.
An unknown number of people were injured when the Interstate 5 Bridge over the Skagit River apparently failed.
Authorities said the bridge fell sometime before 7 p.m. (Washington time).
KOMO TV, the ABC affiliate in the area, reported a state transportation official was not sure when the bridge was last inspected.
"All of our bridges in the area are pretty old," he said.
